DEBT FREE DASH - IT'S TIME!

Holla!  I'm consumer debt free so it's time for YOU to get moving!

Did you sign up for the debt free dash?  If you can't remember or you forgot what you challenged yourself to do check here.  You MUST be signed up on the original post.  I will be giving away a $25.00 gift certificate to one individual who challenged themselves to do something a little more then they would normally do (see original post for details), complete that challenge and report back on this post by 2:00 pm EDT on 1 April 2012.

I will be hosting a run in the local community also!  I'm super excited.  It will be on 31 March and I'll be reporting back with photos and such.

What are you waiting for?  Go out and get active!

 Let's do it!

Who: Anyone that wants to join in is welcome!
What: A physical activity of your choosing as long as you give yourself a challenge
When: Officially 31 March 2012 but you will have at least a week time frame to complete your own challenge
Where: inside, outside, here, there and everywhere
Why: So you can help me celebrate becoming consumer DEBT FREE

What I am looking for from you is to "sign up" by commenting on this post.  All you need to tell me is what activity you are choosing to use for your challenge and how you are planning to challenge yourself.  There will be no judging.  If you want to walk and a challenge for you is 3km that's great!  I want you to be the one that benefits from this so you only have to be true to yourself.

What are you going to get out of this?  Well you will get the health benefits of being physically active and one lucky winner (who completes their physical challenge) chosen randomly will win a gift certificate (of your choosing) with a value of no less than $25.00.  I may decide to choose more than one winner but I'll decide that closer to the date depending on how my finances are looking.  How do you get entered to win?  Well first you need to sign up on this post as I already stated.  Next I will put up another post on or close to 31 March so you can stop by and brag about your accomplishment, telling us again what you did!

If I left anything out or you have any questions just let me know!

Are you ready?!  Time to start training!

I've decided how I want to celebrate becoming consumer debt free and I am VERY excited about it.  I am going to have a run!  It will be open to my community AND all of you!  As the title states "Debt Free Dash" will be the name of my run.

All of the details are yet to be ironed out but basically it will be a 5km or 8km run/walk.  You are invited to participate and help me celebrate.  How do you do this?  Well you just run or walk the 5 or 8 km in your community (or on a treadmill if you prefer) and let me know that you did it.  Maybe I will be able to have a give away and your participation and comment on my post at that time will be your entry and extra entries if you post a blog with pictures of you participating (faces don't need to be seen for anonymous bloggers).  Sound good?

This won't happen until the end of March or early April 2012.  So you have 4 months to prepare and to get running or keep it up if you already do!  :)

UPDATE: 3 Dec 2011 - If you would like to participate but running or walking isn't your thing then by all means please dance, bike or do whatever activity you choose.  I'm so excited that so many of you are interested in participating!  Thanks.

  1. Ooh, I am very interested. Consider me in! (I don't have debt, but I have to save up $10,000 to go back to school, does that count?)
I'd be happy to run a half marathon in support of this!
In fact, I'd take it a step further, and if you want to go ahead and organize this, I'll run a full marathon around the city of Toronto :)

  2. Hey Money Rabbit. You don't need to have debt at all. Just help me celebrate paying off all my consumer debt! You can run as far as you want. Since you are training for the 1/2 Ironman you are already being super active so how ever you would like to challenge yourself is great! :)

  3. I need to break in the treadmill (AGAIN), so I'll see if I'm still standing after a round or two :) This sounds like a fun challenge!

  4. Awesome. Depending on when the day is, I'll try to run a full marathon. I'm not sure I'll be up for it in March, but probably April or May :) Otherwise it'll just be a half. And yes, I'm really hoping to challenge myself, but I'm already sick of the race entry fees!!! It's like $80 bucks a pop!
